CopyCoin Cash

CopyCoin Cash (CCH) is a hard fork of Bitcoin Cash, planned for August 1st, 2019.

It is identical to CopyCoin (CPC) in every way, except that it has a different initial UTXO set (and therefore different coin-owners). On Aug 1 2019, CCH and BCH will have identical UTXO sets; (just as, on Jul 1 2019, CPC and BTC will have identical UTXO sets).

FAQ

1. Why CopyCoin Cash, over “CopyCoin original”?

Successful monies have two things: [1] excellent properties; and [2] strong network effects (ie, they enjoy popular use in society).

CCH has all the features of CopyCoin, which means that it has all of the features of BCH, and BTC, and BSV, and Ethereum, Monero, etc. So it does excellent on the feature dimension.

CCH is a hard fork spin-off of BCH. BCH-holders have higher initiative that most other holders.

So CCH may have the winning combination.

2. This project is identical to CPC, which is a hard fork of Core? How can it be a fork of two projects at once?

All of the software code, on the base layer, will be identical to BTC.

But owners of BTC will not necessarily be awarded CCH in the hard fork. Instead, it is the BCH-owners who are guaranteed to own an equal quantity of CCH.

3. Why Hard Fork the base layer back to BTC’s codebase? Doesn’t that undo all of the BCH development work?

On the base chain, yes.

But the BCH development work can simply be copy-pasted into CCH’s largeblock sidechain.

This architecture makes it as easy as possible for CCH to steal BTC’s innovations (drivechain included). So, in this setup, BCH-users can take advantage of BTC-style features as soon as they are invented.

4. If CPC/CCH succeeds, won’t BTC/BCH just copy it? If so, how can this project have any upside?

I have tried to arrange for BTC- and BCH-mining to collapse, in the event of the success of either CPC or CCH. The strategy for achieving this involves: identical PoW-algos; a lower CCH difficulty; and the fact that financial losses are only experienced by those users who split their coins and intentionally bet against Drivechain.

Drivechain can only be added to Core via a MASF (miner-activated soft fork). But if miners believed in Drivechain, they could instead just switch to mining CPC/CCH. And, if someone wanted to add DC via hard fork, well: this is that hard fork.
